Handheld and Robot Vacuum
Handheld and Robot Vacuum
I never thought I'd get so excited about vacuums, but after investing in both the Shark handheld and Shark AI Robot vacuum, I have to say they’ve completely changed the way I clean my home. I was initially drawn to Shark because of its reputation for smart design, powerful performance, and affordability compared to competitors like Dyson. Now, after using both models for a while, I can confidently say they were worth every penny.
The Shark handheld vacuum, while not perfect, offers all the qualities I was looking for in a versatile, useful handheld cleaner. It’s lightweight and slim, making it easy to maneuver and store, and it charges efficiently so I can grab it whenever I need a quick clean-up. It’s perfect for tackling small messes on furniture, in the car, or even in hard-to-reach corners.
While I do wish the dust cup was a little larger and the battery lasted longer, it’s hard to complain when you consider its performance and price point. Compared to Dyson’s handheld models, the Shark WANDVAC is significantly more affordable while still delivering impressive suction power. If you need extra runtime, many Shark stick vacuums can convert into handheld mode, adding to their versatility.
Then there’s the Shark AI Robot vacuum—an absolute game-changer for keeping my floors spotless with minimal effort. This little machine navigates around my home using LIDAR laser technology, creating a smart and efficient cleaning path. Unlike Dyson’s robot vacuum, the Shark automatically empties its dustbin into the base after every cleaning session, and the best part? The base has a dustbin that can be emptied straight into the trash—no expensive replacement bags required. Over time, this saves a significant amount of money compared to other robot vacuums that require frequent bag replacements. One thing to note is that it sometimes struggles with higher thresholds, but overall, it cleans thoroughly and even goes back to pick up any dirt it may have missed on the first pass.
If you're considering investing in a vacuum, here are a few things to keep in mind:
✔️ Floor type: The type of flooring in your home matters. If you have hard floors, a vacuum with a soft roller head will prevent scratches. For carpets, a bristled brush bar helps lift dirt from deep within the fibers.
✔️ Size and weight: Vacuums come in different sizes and weights, so consider what’s comfortable for you to lift and maneuver. Stick vacuums often fold for easy storage, while handheld models are the lightest and most portable.
✔️ Attachments: The right attachments make a vacuum even more versatile. Look for essentials like a crevice tool, dusting brush, or motorized brush roll for tackling upholstery and pet hair.
✔️ Run time: If you're opting for a cordless model, consider how long the battery lasts. To estimate, divide your home’s square footage by 50 to get a rough idea of how much runtime you need.
✔️ Bag or bagless: Bagless vacuums save money on replacement bags but require frequent emptying, which can be messy. Bagged models trap dust and allergens better but require ongoing purchases of replacement bags.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my Shark vacuum purchases. They offer fantastic cleaning power, smart features, and long-term savings compared to other high-end brands. If you’re looking for a reliable vacuum that won’t break the bank, Shark is definitely worth considering!
